TRAINING ON THERMAL PROCESS OPERATION FOR RETORT OPERATORS
The Food Development Center (FDC) of the National Food Authority (NFA) will conduct a training course on “Thermal Process Operation for Retort Operators” on September 13-14, 2018 at the FDC Compound, East Union Drive corner ARCA Boulevard, ARCA South (formerly FTI Complex), Taguig City.
FDC developed this training course to upgrade the technical capability of retort operators in the operation of Thermal Processing System. It will provide basic information on the essential parts and operation of retort equipment and emphasize on the importance of retorting process where safety and stability of canned foods are concerned.
The course consists of about 4 hours and 45 minutes of lecture-discussions, and 4.5 hours of hands-on exercises. The lecture will discuss the description of retorts used in thermal processing and basic information on essential parts and operation of retort equipment. The practical portion will involve hands-on exercises on the operation of still retort (steam and/or waters spray).
The course fee is P6,200.00 per participant inclusive of a training manual, lunch and snacks. Interested participants are encouraged to make early reservations and to confirm though payment of the required fee on or before September 7, 2018. Checks must be made payable to the National Food Authority-Food Development Center.
Participants may wish to stay at the FDC dormitory on a first come first served basis. Rooms are air-conditioned and can accommodate 2 persons per room. Adjoining rooms share a toilet and bath with hot shower. Rates are P790.00 and P600.00 per room per day for double and single occupancy, respectively.
