NFA Cagayan led by Manager Emmanuel L. Villanueva and Asst. Provincial Manager Natividad T. Arugay had been conducting a series of Ugnayan with famers in the different barangays and barrios to keep them updated of the current programs of the food agency.
Provincial Industry Services Officer Perlita Mahor, on the other hand, is also conducting Ugnayan with grains businessmen to keep them informed of the latest policies in the grains business.
These series of meetings are some of NFA’s strategies to disseminate information and discuss its current programs on palay and corn procurement, rice distribution, Philippine Grains Standardization Program (PGSP), grains licensing and other services offered by the agency.
The Food Guardian campaign is also being advocated during these meetings where the participants are encouraged to sign-up as volunteers.
Over the past three months, a total of 24 meetings had been conducted with more than 1,500 farmers and grains businessmen in attendance. These meetings were done in close coordination with the LGUs, farmers’ organizations and GRECON.
