Provincial Administrative Officers of NFA-IV recently attended a Conference on Standardization of Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) focusing on Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCRS) and Office Performance Commitment and Review (OPCR) at the Regional Office.
Meeting with Accredited Retailers and Farmer Leaders of Sablayan
NFA-Mamburao headed by Provincial Manager Maria Lewina A. Tolentino conducted a dialogue with accredited retailers and farmer leaders of Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro held recently at NFA Sub-Office located at Sitio Tulaong, Barangay Sto. Niño, Sablayan.
During the meeting, PM Tolentino reminded the retailers to strictly follow the agency’s rules and regulations in the distribution of rice through sales to consumers including those stated in the Philippine Grains Standardization Program (PGSP). She also expressed her gratitude to the farmer leaders for continuously supporting the NFA’s Institutionalized Procurement Program (IPP). She encouraged them to deliver their harvest to the agency and assured them of enough warehouse space during procurement season.
NFA-Mamburao headed by Provincial Manager Maria Lewina A. Tolentino together with Sr. Grains Operations Officer and Acting Enforcement and Investigation Officer Rodolfo Maranan, Sr. have stepped up the inspection of rice retail outlets in the Mamburao public market. Market inspections are regularly conducted to ensure that NFA rules and regulations in grains business are being followed and they are compliant with to the Philippine Grains Standardization Program (PGSP).
The grains retailers were reminded that if they are caught violating the rules and regulations, corresponding fines and penalties shall be imposed.
PM Tolentino reminded the accredited rice retail outlets that as conduit of the government, they should always make affordable NFA rice available and accessible to the consumers especially to those who could not afford the price of commercial rice. (Florencia I. Tendido, correspondent)
NFA-Oriental Mindoro hosted a two-day Region IV Accountants’ Conference held on April 21-22, 2016 at the provincial office. Manager Apolinario J. Buerano warmly welcomed all the provincial accountants and staff from the Regional Office.
Today, the National Food Authority is vested the functions of ensuring the food security of the country and the stability of supply and price of the staple grain-rice. It performs these functions through various activities and strategies, which include procurement of paddy from individual bonafide farmers and their organizations, buffer stocking, processing activities, dispersal of paddy and milled rice to strategic locations and distribution of the staple grain to various marketing outlets at appropriate times of the year.
