NFA-Oriental Mindoro headed by Manager Apolinarion J. Buerano attended the dialogue with Rice Processing Center beneficiaries organized by the Department of Agriculture-MIMAROPA Regional Field Office-4B on January 7, 2016 at Vencio's Garden Hotel and Restaurant in Tawiran, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.


     Among the topics discussed by DA representatives  were the Rice Mechanization Program, General Implementing Guidelines on the Provision of Agri-Pinoy RPC; its strategic goals and directions; RPC Modules; and its project concept. The DA representatives included  Ms. Shirley Tomas, Ms. Marieta L. Alvis, and Engr. Gerald Joven Catactocan.

      Meanwhile, NFA staff discussed the following topics :  licensing rules and regulations;  allocation of RPC budget; Philippine Grains and Standardization Program (PGSP); Grains Classification; and the Principles and Methods of Rice Milling.

     Issues and concerns of the beneficiaries were discussed during the open forum where action plans were drawn to  attain the objectives of reducing post-harvest or milling losses, improving the quality of milled rice, and increasing farmers’ income and productivity.

     Recipients of the RPC in Oriental Mindoro were the  Naujan Federation of Farmers, Bansud Livestock and Marketing Association, and LGU Bongabong.
