MASBATE WAREHOUSE INAUGURATIONThe newly constructed 50,000 tons capacity warehouse (above photo) in Osmeña St., Masbate City was recently inaugurated. The construction of the new warehouse was a dream come true for the Masbateños after more than 20 years of waiting. Being a typhoon path area, the warehouse is climate-resilient where it can withstand a wind velocity of 350 kph during typhoon and earthquake intensity magnitude of 8. The inauguration of the warehouse was attended by former Adm. Renan B. Dalisay prior to his resignation in May. In his message, Adm. Dalisay said that NFA was able to address the problem of the farmers by keeping and managing well the government rice stocks and prices and giving farmers a reasonable return on their investment and increasing their income. Masbate Gov. Vicente Revil, who also graced the event, emphasized that poverty incidence in the province has decreased. From its 67th previous ranking among the poorest province, it now ranks 52nd which means that its economy is improving.
