EDO and San Mateo signs MOA on Rice Loan

        San Mateo, a first class municipality in the Province of Rizal, was visited by NFA-East District Office Provincial Manager Armando Ray C. Villacorta who paid a courtesy call to its newly elected and first-time Mayor, Honorable Cristina C. Diaz.

      Villacorta explained to Mayor Diaz the need for a Memorandum of Agreement between the NFA-EDO and the Municipal Government of San Mateo so they can immediately procure NFA rice on cash or credit in times of calamity. During the Habagat which hit Luzon, San Mateo was among the most affected towns causing floods, evacuation of residents from low-lying areas and long suspension of school classes.

       Earlier the Municipal Council passed a Resolution giving authority to the Mayor to enter into a MOA with NFA-EDO.               

       Right there and then, what was supposed to be just a courtesy call Ceremonial Signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between NFA-East District office and the Municipal Government of San Mateo.

     San Mateo was the first of thirteen (13) municipalities and three (3) cities within the territorial jurisdiction of East District Office to sign the MOA with NFA. (RONALD PAUL GRACIA, correspondent)

Warehouse Visit NFA-Central District Office Manager Evelyn Medalla made the rounds of warehouses under her turf recently  to oversee the issuance of stocks to Accredited Retailers, DSWD and farmers’ organizations/cooperatives under the Institutionalized Farmers as Distributors (IFAD) program from the Region. Warehouse Supervisors and staff were reminded to be more vigilant on stocks infestation, short-weighing etc.  (Jocelyn D. Joaquin, correspondent)

SHAKE AND FIRE DRILL

            NFA – South District Office spearheaded by Manager Roberto S. Musngi, along with employees from the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), Philippine National Bank (PNB), Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), Metrobank, and the Land Transportation Office (LTO), and other tenants of Food Terminal Inc. (FTI) Administration building participated in the simultaneous Metro Manila Shake Drill on June 22, 2016 led by  the Bureau of Fire and Prevention (BFP) in behalf of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

METRO MANILA SHAKE DRILL NFA-NCR Regional Office and Central District Office employees led by Asst. Director Myrna Domingo (3rd from left) and Manager Evelyn Medalla (4th from left) participated in the simultaneous Metro Manila Shake Drill on June 22, 2016. The employees performed the “DUCK, COVER and HOLD” and evacuated to the nearest open area in the vicinity. The Shake Drill was initiated by the Metro Manila Development Authority to raise awareness and promote preparedness should a strong earthquake hit the metropolis. AGRI-AQUA FAIR ON 118th PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY NFA-Central District participated in the Agri-Aqua Fair spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture in celebration of the 118th Philippine Independence Day at the Luneta Park on June 11-12, 2016. The theme of this  year’s celebration was “Kalayaan 2016: Pagkakaisa,  Pag-aambagan, Pagsulong Tungo sa Kasapatan sa Pagkain”.  NFA-CDO sold Well Milled Rice at P27.00/kg and P32.00/kg.  (Jocelyn Joaquin, Acting Information Officer)

                                                                                                     

 

 

 

      

BALIK ESKWELA CARAVAN NFA-Cavite participated in the Balik Eskwela Diskwento Caravan organized by the Department of Trade Industry (DTI) in coordination with the Provincial Government of Cavite. The caravan was held at the Provincial Capitol Compound in Trece Martires City on May 30-31, 2016. A variety of products at discounted prices were made available to the public.
