NFA Region 10 hosted the joint 2016 Industry Services Department (ISD) and Security Services and Investigation Department (SSID) area conference last June 20 to 24, 2016. A total of 42 participants coming from Regions 9, 10, CARAGA including the resource persons from Central Office headed by ISD Director Carol L. Dansal participated in the activity.
The conference theme “Industry Services Officers … Agents for a meaningful Change in the Grains Industry” is in line with the call for change by the Duterte Administration.

A total of 2,500 bags NFA rice were distributed to 5,000 families who were adversely affected by the El Niño Phenomenon in the municipality of Talakag, Bukidnon on June 16, 2016 .
The rice is part of the 53,000 bags NFA rice procured by the provincial government of Bukidnon under its Mitigation Program being implemented by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Division under the stewardship of Governor Jose Ma. R. Zubiri, Jr.
Today, the National Food Authority is vested the functions of ensuring the food security of the country and the stability of supply and price of the staple grain-rice. It performs these functions through various activities and strategies, which include procurement of paddy from individual bonafide farmers and their organizations, buffer stocking, processing activities, dispersal of paddy and milled rice to strategic locations and distribution of the staple grain to various marketing outlets at appropriate times of the year.
